Introduction

Live it to the brim
Shake it now and then
Live it to the brim
Just be you!

- Live It To The Brim, 2002

Tim Rose's name has been well known to rock aficionados for many years. Although not as well known to the public as some of his contemporaries, the list of people Tim worked with is a namecheck of some of the best known names of modern music: Mama Cass Elliot, Tim Hardin, Robert Plant, Andy Summers and Nick Cave among them.

Tim had a way of taking traditional standards and making them his own. If you've ever heard Jimi Hendrix sing 'Hey Joe', you're already familiar with Tim's work; that version of the traditional song was first crafted by Tim Rose.

Among the other songs he remade in his own particular style are 'Morning Dew' and 'Come Away Melinda'. He also penned many original songs, and continued to write and perform up until his death in September 2002. In the last decade of his life he lived in London and peformed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and on the prestigious Jools Holland show on the BBC.

This website includes the first official discography of Tim's work, checked and approved by Tim himself. There is also a biography, a news page and an online shop, which is the only place where you can buy all of Tim's recordings and merchandise, including his last album, American Son.

This site was set up by Tim to promote his work and sell his merchandise. It is being maintained and updated in his memory. There are many people to whom thanks are due; in particular Brian Mathieson, who has been maintaining a Tim Rose site on the web for some time. Some of the information and images here come from Brian's site.

When Tim died, we created a condolences page to record messages from his fans and friends. It is still open, so if you were touched by Tim's work in any way, feel free to leave a message.
